Brave Launches AI Chat Mode for Smarter Search : Brave just made searching online a little easier. The browser now offers an AI chat feature on Brave Search, letting you ask follow-up questions about your initial query.
Earlier this year, Brave introduced “Answer with AI” summaries, which give quick, clear answers above your search results. Now, these summaries will include a chat bar where you can dive deeper into your topic by asking related questions.
How It Works
Let’s say you search for “Christopher Nolan films” on Brave. The AI will give you a summary of who Nolan is and a list of his movies. Starting today, you’ll also see a chat bar that says, “Ask a follow-up question.” You can type something like, “Which actors appear most in his films?” The chatbot will then provide a detailed answer and show its sources so you know where the information comes from.
What Makes It Unique?
Unlike Google, which offers AI Overviews but no chat follow-ups, Brave’s new feature blends search and chat seamlessly. You don’t need to start a new search for each follow-up question. Instead, Brave lets you stay in the flow of a conversation, combining the strengths of traditional search engines with AI chat tools.
